What we treat

Our practitioners treat a wide range of conditions using acupuncture, tui na, and bone-setting — grounded in Hong Kong hospital clinical experience and modern anatomical understanding.

Back Pain & Sciatica

Lumbar disc compression, chronic lower-back pain, and sciatic nerve radiation treated at the root — not just the surface.

TCM vs. Conventional Treatment

The two approaches are not in opposition — they are complementary. Here's where each excels.

How it compares

The CMCHK sets one of the most rigorous TCM licensing frameworks in the world. Every Yin-Yang practitioner meets that bar — not the lower voluntary registration threshold common in the UK.

FAQ

Common questions

Do I need to have a Hong Kong background to book?

Not at all. We welcome all patients. Consultations are available in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.

Is acupuncture painful?

The needles used are extremely fine (~0.25 mm). Most patients describe a mild aching or warmth — not pain. All sessions are supervised by a licensed practitioner throughout.

How many sessions will I need?

Acute conditions typically show improvement within 2–4 sessions. Chronic or regulatory conditions are assessed over a 6–8 session course. Your practitioner will advise at the initial consultation.

Do you accept insurance?

Some private health plans cover TCM treatment. We recommend confirming directly with your insurer. See our pricing & insurance page for details.

Is the service the same at both clinics?

Yes. Both Wimbledon and Reading operate to identical service and practitioner standards. You can begin a treatment course at either clinic and continue at the other.
